Ireland, professionally known as Ireland The Gypsy, is a licensed cosmetologist, barber, creative entrepreneur, educator, and community leader dedicated to helping people feel confident, cared for, and empowered. Originally from Northern California, Ireland began her professional journey behind the chair in New Orleans, where she built a reputation for her skill, calming presence, and ability to create a space where people feel seen, respected, and valued.
The name Ireland The Gypsy carries deep personal meaning and honors her family history. Inspired by her grandmother, who proudly embraced the name “Gypsy” as a reflection of her love for travel, exploration, and experiencing the world, Ireland carries that same spirit of curiosity, freedom, and connection into everything she creates. Her passion for learning, traveling, and connecting with people from all walks of life continues to shape her personal journey and the work she shares with others.
With an Associate of Science degree in Small Business Management and Entrepreneurship, Ireland combines creativity with business strategy, using her experience as a self-employed entrepreneur to inspire and educate others on building businesses rooted in authenticity, sustainability, and purpose. Through her own entrepreneurial journey, she has developed educational resources, including her upcoming eBook, designed to help others navigate the challenges, lessons, and opportunities of starting and growing their own businesses.
Since beginning her career in 2019 and becoming licensed in 2021, Ireland has specialized in barbering, men’s grooming, diverse hair textures, locs, braiding, color, skincare, and personalized grooming experiences. She is known for precision work, attention to detail, cleanliness, and a gentle approach that allows clients to feel comfortable and confident in her chair. Many clients describe Ireland as having “healing hands,” recognizing that her services provide more than a fresh look — they offer a sense of peace, comfort, and restoration. Her work is centered around the belief that grooming is more than appearance; it is a form of self-care, confidence, and personal expression.
Ireland’s passion for service extends beyond beauty. She serves as the Executive Director of Operations for The VIBE, supporting organizational growth, communication, administration, events, community outreach, and the development of programs designed to serve and uplift others. Through leadership, creativity, and strategic support, she helps create spaces where people can connect, grow, and experience meaningful transformation.
